Part of semantic web will be giving us useful information on our requests. Wolfram Alpha is excellent for certain types of information that I personally believe Google and other search engines will insert on their search results or at the very least give users the chance to access that information. Microsoft made a deal with Wolfram Alpha to show Wolfram Alfa results on Bing although haven't found any search that returns them. This is part of the reason I think vertical search will be integrated on Google, Yahoo, Bing and others.

Interesting article, as i may suggest, I’m already using a tool for semantic search on the web. The project Tattler ( http://tattlerapp.com ) permits monitorization of certain term you define. After the proper setup it’ll find news, images, videos or any other kind of information based on the terms you’re looking for.
It is not yet an intelligent search that bases its findings on your preferences or behavior but it is a promising project that has a lot of potential.

Interesting post. As a non expert it sounds like the semantic (let’s call it intelligent or “human”) web could co-exist with vertical search.

What do you think of the Wolfram Alpha engine? Not much news about that…

PS – I was thinking of writing about a different concept of semantics (=wording )
